Long before the area saw any development, a quiet moment in nature led to the name Pierced Oak. When my grandparents first purchased this land, there was nothing but open space and towering trees. On a walk one day, my grandfather absentmindedly placed a stick in the crook of an oak tree and wandered off. Over the years, the tree grew around it, encasing the stick within its bark. When my grandfather rediscovered it several years later, he named the property Pierced Oak.

Throughout my childhood, every visit to the property meant a search for the Pierced Oak, a tradition that deepened our connection to this land. Now, as we transform the space into Pierced Oak RV Park, the tree remains standing and protected throughout the entire construction process. A plaque will share its story with visitors, preserving the legacy of this special place.

For me, naming a business is often one of the hardest parts of the process. But with Pierced Oak, the name was already here—rooted in history, family, and a deep love for the land. The tree still stands, and our logo proudly reflects its silhouette, ensuring that every visitor experiences the same sense of wonder and tradition that inspired this place from the very beginning.
